Was away from home from mid-August to early
November, so was not able to answer any emails. Then shortly after returning
home, my video card went out and the hard drive totally crashed. Was not able to recover any data from it.
As a result, all of the email messages I'd saved (going back to April of this
year) were lost.
As you can imagine, I've been spending many,
many hours working to get my computer back up and running like it was. Computers
are wonderful tools when they are working properly, but having your hard drive
and video card crash
at the same time is no fun.If you
wrote to me and did not receive a reply, that's the reason. I hope you
will try again.

is being made of Peter Beagle's book.

Recently visited the site
and it contains quite a bit of information. You can read the story line, view images of the film's
characters and film locations and get the
latest information as it's posted on the site. At one time the planned release date
was
December, 2006. Guess it got pushed back for some reason. Don't know
the new release date.

UPDATE - January 8, 2008:
I'm sorry to report that this
movie may never get made. I've heard from someone who's been in
contact with Peter Beagle and apparently MAJOR problems have arisen with the
production company. What type of problems I have no idea - probably the
standard "artistic differences." My source reports the movie
"is dead in the water."
Sure hope that turns out
to be erroneous or that the project can go forward with another production
company. I'm very disappointed; I was looking forward to seeing
a live action version of this timeless and classic fantasy. The web
site is still up and running so maybe all is not lost. Let's all think
positive thoughts that the movie will get made sooner rather than later (or
not at all).
